Build-up of the instrument array began on September 15th. Technicians, Master students and researchers worked together in installing the first instruments along the cross-shore array, to measure wave characteristics, current velocities, sediment concentrations and groundwater fluctuations in the intertidal zone. After the second day all instruments were switched on for a first quick test. Today we will install instruments along the beach, at the low-water line, to identify variations in the wavefield across the Sand Motor. We are looking forward to have a look at the first data today!
