dr. Aleksandra Cvetkoska, postdoctoral researcher Palaeoecology / Diatoms
From 14−16 September 2015 I participated in the International Continental Scientific Drilling Program, ICDP training Course on Lacustrine Sediment Drilling. The training was held at Lake Ohrid in Macedonia. During the three days course we had the chance to learn about some relevant aspects of scientific drilling in lakes, project planning and management, pre-site studies, drilling engineering, drill core handling and storage, on-site core analysis, downhole logging, data management, and post-drilling activities. Apart from that, it was a nice multi-disciplinary setting to meet students and colleagues working on sediment cores from various locations. Many thanks to the ICDP team for this opportunity!
